Frequently Asked Questions.
Q.Do I need a real acoustic piano to take online piano classes?
No, you do not need an acoustic grand piano. Any 88-key or 61-key digital piano or keyboard with touch sensitivity (velocity sensitivity) and a sustain pedal input is perfect for the first several years of learning. Instruments like the Yamaha P-45, Casio Privia, or Roland FP-10 are great choices.
Q.Is it too late to learn piano as an adult?
Never. Over 60% of our piano students are working professionals and adults who started from scratch. Adults have superior analytical understanding of chord theory and musical structure compared to children, and can learn in 3 months what takes a 7-year-old an entire year to grasp.
Q.Will I learn how to read sheet music notation?
Yes. Our curriculum introduces sheet music and grand staff notation (Treble & Bass clefs) step-by-step from the beginner level. You will also learn chord-chart reading and ear training so you can play both by note and by ear.
Q.Can Sukoon prepare me for Trinity College London or ABRSM exams?
Yes. Maestro Kshitij Kansara was on the faculty of the Royal Trinity School of Music and has prepared hundreds of candidates to achieve High Distinctions in both digital video exam submissions and face-to-face evaluations.
